If you have a suggestion for the forums such as adding forums, moving forums, or splitting forums, please make your suggestion in this thread. All ideas will be considered but may or may not be implemented. If you feel CB will benefit from a certain forum that doesn't exist, please let us know.
Thank you.

I personally think that the forum is simply too big. It's near overwhelming. I mean, I think my own forum is too big with 30 forums, and so I'll probably be shrinking it down, but this is massive. I don't know how many forums/sub forums you have but it's a lot. I don't see why things cannot be condensed and grouped in categories so that you can have a tighter forum that still covers the same broad areas you'd like to cover.
I also dislike "teen only" forums for the record. I don't see the advantage a teen can get from getting advice from other teens who most likely are struggling with the same issues and may or may not have the best advice/thoughts to give one another.

Alpha, if you mention your forum you should include it in your profile.

AlphaThese forums are always changing - one month we may have 10 sections, another we may have 3 - while we may combine 10 forums into one another month, or open up 5 forums from 1 another - just depends on how things go. These forums were a lot larger, and they were a lot smaller. I have recently condensed and/or removed about 10-15 forums yet opened up another area of discussion based on member input and something to focus on in the future. Next month there could be a few more forum changes. One day we will have a settled forum structure.
The teen only forums are slated to be restructured. It was an experiment to draw a younger crowd in here but did not happen. I will still have some sort of teen forum, but not as it looks today.

I just noticed, we do not have a community lounge for general chit chat. Thought we had one of those?

http://www.christianboards.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61 :D (there's just subforums listed above them) - I am going to see if I can find a way to not show the subforums in a forum.

this place ain't so big. I've been on smaller forums, larger forums, confused forums and lost forums.... not sure where the last type were though.
ooh, we can sell forum maps in the hardware store... :D I am They and I'll be your guide for this evening. Please keep all hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times. Please remain seated until the ride has come to a full and complete stop. Thank you.

[url]I am going to see if I can find a way to not show the subforums in a forum.
David:
Go to admincp, "vBulletin Options" on the top of the left pane, Pull down "Form Listing Display Options" and click "edit settings" button, Set Depth of Forums to "0" and save.

I have it set to 0, and as you can see here http://www.christianboards.org/forumdisplay.php?f=12 it still displays sub-forums :P

Actually, it is working. Each subform, when clicked on, goes one page deeper to list the subforms under that one subform.
If you set it back to one, Each subform lists the subforms under it on the same page - you don't have to click into the subform to see the subforms under it.
Hope this makes sense.

Actually, for what I am desiring, its not working. It works as designed, which is great. I will be working on an alteration (not tonight as I doubt I'd have time to actually finish it) to do what I am desiring. Who knows, I may even release it.
Edit: for what I am wanting, it will not work. If I were to do this, I would work great for anything past the 1st subforum, but clicking on the 1st subforum would result in showing no subforums as the 1st subforum is actually the 1st level past the category (level 2).
For example, clicking on http://www.christianboards.org/forumdisplay.php?f=85 would let me see the forum without the subforums at the top, but clicking on http://www.christianboards.org/forumdisplay.php?f=84 would prevent me from seeing any thing in that category. I would have to write some serious if condition statements and they would have to most likely be hard coded into the templates. I'll have to ponder on this.
