I just realised that we've never welcomed one (?two) of the newest, and most active members to join us of late.
So, Welcome to CB, BTW & DM :wave1

not properly welcomed? for shame.. how did we miss a welcome thread? with all the wonderful interaction - this is an outrage. I'm filing a complaint with one of the admins right now....
They : "I'd like to file a complaint."
They: "Sure - just sign here."
They: "What's this?"
They: "A complaint waiver."

They : "I'd like to file a complaint."Go out your front door, take a left turn, 13 paces later, enter the elevator for the 13th floor. Fill out all of proper forms. CB complaints are answered within 24 hours. ADMIN "They" will take care of your concerns.

Well, its closed for repairs at the moment. Someone left a kitty on that floor and now all the door facings are scratched up. Not to mention, there was a sniper rifle with at the end of the hall with some excess fur and catnip nearby (not even mentioning the litter box 3 feet away). Paul has got the camera surveillance, so he might have gotten a pic of that kitten - you'd have to check with him.

Depends on the age of the building...by older tradition the ground floor is the lobby, the first floor starts on top of the ground floor, AND number 13 is not used in many NYC buildings built in the 20's........:P

As I recall there is no 13th floor in buildings high enough to have one in the US, I don't know why, it's an architect / construction worker thing.

superstition....
most buildings in the US tall enough to have them don't.. they skip. On some of the older - older buildings, the 13th floor is existant but not accessible by elevator (without stopping manually) and the door is faced over in the stairwell.

There's a very good film, called "The thirteenth floor".. I guess that superstition is where the name came from.

I get the distinct impression that this little kitty was black, and therefore made several crossings in front of the elevator door path for those poor souls who are supersticious...
I also take it that this kitten was gunning for dogs...
Naughty little kitty indeed.

as I recall, that kitty is for hire - and works for the government... not sure which agency though. ;)
