DALLAS (AP) - A couple has filed a complaint in federal court charging that Texas's mandated moment of silence in public schools is unconstitutional.
David and Shannon Croft say a teacher told one of their children to keep quiet because the minute is a "time for prayer."

No matter how you come at this, there is nothing wrong with a moment of silence. I have a constitutional right to do whatever I want with a moment of silence. People are getting rediculous allowing the very few to gum up the legal system with nonsense.

"It is interesting to note that those who now proffer the most vociferous defense of these 'teachers' to say what they want in the classroom are the very ones who want to ban other educators from uttering a Bible verse, challenging Darwin's theory of evolution or noting that we are 'one nation under God,' when pledging allegiance to our flag. Not surprisingly, the so-called mainstream media has failed to note the utter inconsistency in defending the 'right' of some teachers to defame our President—while denying the freedom of _expression to other educators who profess their faith in God. The consequence of the political-legal crossfire of America's classrooms is predictable. As shown by the Global Literacy Survey—and dozens of other assessments—students in public education aren't learning that which will prepare them for jobs and higher education in a highly competitive global economy. Parents who can afford to, vote with their feet. They pull their children out of these troubled schools and send them to private or religious institutions or home-school them. America's high-tech industry is constantly lobbying Washington to increase the number of visas granted to qualified immigrants—because our schools aren't producing enough competent graduates. There is no doubt that our children must learn 'critical thinking.' Before they get to politics—shouldn't they at least know geography—and maybe some math and science? It would be nice—if this is to remain the home of the brave and the land of the free—that America's students could place it on a map." —Oliver North

Gets tiring to here what some educators think is right. A book for grade school children called "My 2 Dads" in NYC schools. Teaching "Culture" history to the point that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are mentioned only 5 times in a U.S. history book. Rewriting the history of Colombus and others as the most evil charectors of history. Doing away with Phonetics as a way to teach reading with "sight words". Thousand years of teaching kids how to read English is replaced with a method that fails to teach them how the language operates.
I know 3 people in the Department of Education that think that government agency should be done away with and they are higher ranking people.

Year be for last I asked my grandson if they were teaching him the Big Bang.
He said no and wanted to know what it was.I told him in as few words as I
could. Last year he came home and said they were teaching the Big Bang. He
said he and his friend stood up and said that they believed the Bible. That
the Big Bang was not true, that he was not going to studdy it. Do you know that the teacher did not fail him and did not get mad with him. She said
that she had to teach it. I do not know what all happened. They kepted it
quiet. He said that there are things that he can not tell us. He is only in the 10th. The teacher can not make any one learn. I found out that they pass kids and do not keep them back or help them to catch up. There is a lot that goes on.
Glad you are homeschooling. There are a lot of people here doing that. God bless people doing something.

They like to say there was nothing and then Bang the Universe exploded from a central core. I like to push them on where did all that material come from to explode into such a massive universe.
Then there is Genesis where God said "Let there be Light", sounds to me like we know where the big bang came from....:D

As with all things, God invented the big bang (or whatever He'd like to call it ;) )

The teacher did not know how to handel my grandson and his friend. That is not a very good teacher. No wonder young people today do not know what
to do with their lives. Praise the Lord for the God fearing people who are
teaching their young people at home or in a spicule school. God bless you all.
